So, I have a 99 Ford F-250 SuperDuty pickup with the 7.3 Liter diesel engine. Great truck, works like a bull! However, when there is something wrong with that engine, (which is rare) forget about going to your local repair shop. Blank stares, head scratching, sometimes some BS and finally the same diagnosis - you need a new turbo! WRONG! Forget too, about going to your Ford garage! Same general response as the local repair shop, BUT the estimate (if they will even give you one) will be for 4 times what the local guy wants, and they usually still want to blame the turbo! WRONG, WRONG! If you want a mechanic that can spare you this experience, try Mike at Maryland Auto and Truck Repair. Friendly guy, honest work, fair business practices, and the real kicker - they can diagnose and fix this great engine without first wanting to replace your turbo! Look, diesel repairs cost more than gas engine repairs. But, the repairs when done by a competent diesel mechanic usually do NOT require replacing your turbo! Want your 7.3L Oil Burner to run well again? Then spend a little time with Mike or Mark at Maryland Auto & Truck Center in Glen Burnie, MD! I am glad I did and I think you will be, too!
Thank you so much for your positive feedback Bill. We really appreciate hearing about your experience, and could not agree more with your opinion as far as truck engine repairs go. We are extremely happy you felt your needs were handled with the utmost care and always prioritized. We look forward to being here for you next time.
